 APC RELEASES LIST OF CLEARED SENATORIAL CANDIDATES AS PRIMARIES CONTINUE  By Abbanobi-Eku Onyeka The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released the names of senatorial candidates who have emerged from completed primaries across 34 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) ahead of the 2027 general elections. According to the party, the list comprises candidates whose nominations have been concluded and ratified, while primaries in some senatorial districts remain pending, inconclusive or yet to be conducted. In the South-East, former Senate President Orji Uzor Kalu secured the APC ticket for Abia North. Other candidates include Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jr (Abia South) and Emeka Atuma (Abia Central). Former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso , has reportedly threatened to leave the Nigeria Democratic Congress following a fresh dispute over party tickets in Kano State. The crisis started after the NDC replaced several candidates earlier submitted by the Kwankwasiyya faction in Kano. According to reports, the changes were made to enforce a pre-agreed 60/40 power-sharing formula between the Kwankwasiyya bloc and the original NDC structure. Under the arrangement, the Kwankwasiyya bloc was expected to receive 60 percent of elective positions and party offices, while the existing NDC structure would retain 40 percent. A document reportedly signed by the Kano State NDC Chairman, Hon. Hussaini Isah Mairiga, showed that adjustments were made to some federal constituency and state assembly tickets.
