TENSION IN NATIONAL OPEN UNIVERSITY OVER SUDDEN EXAM TIMETABLE CHANGE
There is growing tension among students of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) following reports of an abrupt change in the examination timetable without prior adequate communication.
According to affected students, an examination originally scheduled for 2:00 p.m. was suddenly shifted to 8:00 a.m., allegedly without proper notice to candidates nationwide. Many students claim they were not informed in time, leaving several stranded and unable to sit for the exam.
The development has sparked widespread frustration, with students expressing concern that the situation could negatively affect academic performance and may result in mass carryovers for the affected course, LIS0102 (Libraries and Society).
Some students are calling for urgent clarification from the university management, insisting that no official explanation has been provided regarding the sudden timetable adjustment.
As of the time of filing this report, the university authorities are yet to issue an official statement addressing the concerns raised by students.
Students are appealing for immediate intervention to review the situation and prevent academic disadvantage to those affected.
