A tragic security incident has been reported in the Quarry area near Arab Road, Kubwa, Abuja, where suspected kidnappers invaded a residential community in a late-night attack.


According to reports, the attackers stormed the area between Saturday night and early Sunday, allegedly entering through a nearby hill. During the invasion, there was an exchange of gunfire between the attackers and local vigilantes.


One resident was abducted during the attack, while another victim who was injured later reportedly died in the hospital before receiving full treatment.


Community sources say this marks the third major kidnapping-related incident in the area in recent years, raising renewed concerns over security lapses.


Residents are now calling on authorities for urgent intervention, including increased patrols and the establishment of a stronger security presence to prevent further attacks.

Former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso , has reportedly threatened to leave the Nigeria Democratic Congress following a fresh dispute over party tickets in Kano State. The crisis started after the NDC replaced several candidates earlier submitted by the Kwankwasiyya faction in Kano. According to reports, the changes were made to enforce a pre-agreed 60/40 power-sharing formula between the Kwankwasiyya bloc and the original NDC structure.
