The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the final list of candidates for the upcoming June 20, 2026 bye-elections across various constituencies in Nigeria.


According to the Commission’s final compilation, several political parties have successfully cleared their nominated candidates for the elections, including former Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, and other contenders across senatorial, federal, and state assembly seats.


The bye-elections will be conducted in constituencies where vacancies occurred due to resignations, deaths, or appointments of former office holders.

Former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso , has reportedly threatened to leave the Nigeria Democratic Congress following a fresh dispute over party tickets in Kano State.
