FCT POLICE UNVEILS VIOLENT CRIME RESPONSE UNIT AS RESIDENTS DEMAND DEPLOYMENT TO BYAZHIN–KUBWA

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has announced the establishment of a Violent Crime Response Unit, a special tactical team designed to tackle kidnapping, armed robbery, and other serious violent crimes across Abuja.

According to the Command, the new unit is part of strengthened security measures aimed at improving rapid response to emergencies and curbing rising cases of violent attacks within the territory.

Meanwhile, residents of Byazhin–Kubwa have welcomed the initiative but are urgently calling for the immediate deployment of the unit to their community, citing continued threats and recurring attacks allegedly carried out by armed criminal groups operating in the area.

Community members say recent incidents have heightened fear, with some residents reporting persistent insecurity and calling for increased patrols, intelligence operations, and swift intervention to protect lives and property.

The FCT Police Command is yet to confirm specific deployment locations, but assured residents that the new unit will be strategically positioned to respond to high-risk areas across Abuja.

Residents continue to urge authorities to act quickly to restore confidence and security in affected communities.
