BREAKING: Terrorists Demand Weapons, Cash, and Influence Over Nigerian Laws for Release of Kidnapped Victims – Oyo Assembly Speaker

The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly has raised alarm over the growing audacity of terrorist groups, revealing that kidnappers and terrorists are no longer demanding only ransom payments but are now seeking weapons, large sums of money, and even concessions that could influence future Nigerian laws as conditions for releasing abducted victims, including schoolchildren.

The disturbing revelation highlights the evolving security challenges facing Nigeria and underscores the urgent need for stronger counter-terrorism measures, enhanced intelligence gathering, and greater collaboration among security agencies.

The safety of citizens, especially schoolchildren and vulnerable communities, must remain a top priority. Government at all levels must intensify efforts to combat terrorism, secure educational institutions, and ensure that criminal elements do not dictate the future of the nation.

Nigeria's security and sovereignty must never be negotiated with terrorists.
