BREAKING NEWS: FRESH KIDNAP ATTACK IN BYAZHIN, KUBWA, ABUJA LEAVES ONE DEAD, FOUR ABDUCTED

Residents of Byazhin Community, across Kubwa in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), have been thrown into fear and panic following a deadly kidnapping attack that occurred in the early hours of today, at about 2:00 a.m., behind a Catholic Church in the area.

According to eyewitness accounts, armed kidnappers invaded the community and abducted four persons, comprising two men and two young girls. During the operation, a young man who was reportedly carrying out security duties within the community was shot dead by the attackers.

Residents alleged that the attackers, numbering about seven and armed with AK-47 rifles, operated freely for several hours before escaping with their victims. Witnesses further claimed that the kidnappers fled through the route leading to Buhari Community and may still be hiding within nearby forests and settlements.

Community members expressed concern that this is the second kidnapping incident recorded in the same area this year, raising serious questions about the security situation in the nation's capital. Some residents believe the same criminal gang responsible for previous attacks may be behind this latest incident.

The people of Byazhin and surrounding communities are urgently calling on security agencies to intensify search and rescue operations to secure the safe release of the abducted victims and bring the perpetrators to justice.

We respectfully appeal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, the National Security Adviser, security agencies, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to urgently intervene in this matter. The continued wave of kidnappings within the Federal Capital Territory has become a major source of concern, and residents are demanding immediate action to restore confidence and ensure the safety of lives and property.

The families of the victims and the entire community await swift government intervention as efforts continue to locate and rescue those abducted.

Security must not fail in the nation's capital.
