 BREAKING: APC Releases Senatorial Candidates List for Bayelsa State


The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reportedly cleared and confirmed its senatorial candidates for Bayelsa State ahead of upcoming elections, following the conclusion of its internal selection process.


According to the released list, the party’s flag bearers for the three senatorial districts are:


1. Rt. Hon. Israel Sunny-Goli – Bayelsa East

2. Sen. Kombowei Benson – Bayelsa Central

3. Hon. Fidelis Agbiki – Bayelsa West


The announcement has been followed by congratulatory messages within party circles, as the candidates prepare to represent the APC in the senatorial contests across the state.


Party stakeholders describe the development as a key step in strengthening the APC’s electoral structure in Bayelsa ahead of the general elections.


The candidates are expected to begin full-scale campaign activities in line with electoral guidelines once officially published by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso , has reportedly threatened to leave the Nigeria Democratic Congress following a fresh dispute over party tickets in Kano State. The crisis started after the NDC replaced several candidates earlier submitted by the Kwankwasiyya faction in Kano. According to reports, the changes were made to enforce a pre-agreed 60/40 power-sharing formula between the Kwankwasiyya bloc and the original NDC structure. Under the arrangement, the Kwankwasiyya bloc was expected to receive 60 percent of elective positions and party offices, while the existing NDC structure would retain 40 percent.
