Former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso , has reportedly threatened to leave the Nigeria Democratic Congress following a fresh dispute over party tickets in Kano State. The crisis started after the NDC replaced several candidates earlier submitted by the Kwankwasiyya faction in Kano. According to reports, the changes were made to enforce a pre-agreed 60/40 power-sharing formula between the Kwankwasiyya bloc and the original NDC structure. Under the arrangement, the Kwankwasiyya bloc was expected to receive 60 percent of elective positions and party offices, while the existing NDC structure would retain 40 percent. A document reportedly signed by the Kano State NDC Chairman, Hon. Hussaini Isah Mairiga, showed that adjustments were made to some federal constituency and state assembly tickets.
